Father sentenced to life in prison for murder of five-year-old son
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A jury found Darell Avant guilty of murdering his five-year-old son. He has been sentenced to life in prison.
Sentencing for Avant began on Monday and finished on Thursday, when the jury decided to sentence him to life in prison, even though the prosecutors asked for the death penalty.
Darell Avant is charged with first-degree murder, as in December 2013, he became so frustrated with his son’s bad behavior, he beat the boy until he had dozens of bruises, fractured ribs, and tears in organs.
