Fatal hit-and-run incident in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Authorities are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Winter Park that has claimed the life of one man.  That man, who has not yet been identified, was struck and killed as he was trying to cross the Semoran Blvd. near Driggs Dr., in the area of Full Sail University.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a dark-colored Nissan was traveling southbound on Semoran Blvd. as the pedestrian was attempting to cross from the east side of the road to the west. The driver sped away after hitting the pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene, according to troopers.

FHP says the vehicle will have damage to the front, driver's side around the headlamp area. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
