Edgewater police officers shoot, kill gun-wielding man

EDGEWATER, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Edgewater Police showed up at a home on Unity Tree Road on Monay night, after receiving a call from Karen Johns. She said her husband, Gary, was pointing a gun at her.

In the 911 phone recording, you hear her say, "Put the gun down. Why are you doing this? Put the gun down! Help Me!"

Chief David Archeri said his officers were forced to shoot when Gary Johns wouldn't stop shooting. Gary Johns died at the scene; Karen Johns was treated and released for a gunshot wound to her upper chest.
