Early morning crash takes the lives of a mother and daughter

A crash on John Young Parkway took the lives of two people on Tuesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that a vehicle was traveling northbound on John Young Parkway when it unknowingly traveled into the right turn lane and struck the rear of a vehicle loaded with asphalt. The vehicle with asphalt was parked partially on the right turn lane and partially on the right shoulder.

Both occupants of the vehicle traveling northbound died at the hospital. One victim was a 31-year-old female, the other was an 8-year-old child. FHP troopers have confirmed that they were mother and daughter.
