Deputies: Student brought BB pistol to school

CLERMONT, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A student at South Lake High School in Clermont was arrested on Tuesday by a school resource deputy, accused of bringing a BB pistol on campus.
It was reported to the resource deputy that the student, a 15-year-old and member of the school's ROTC program, had displayed the gun under his desk in the classroom. It was unknown initially whether the gun was an actual firearm or a BB gun, authorities say.
The student was arrested and charged with possessing weapon on school property, which is a felony.
