Deputies search for suspect in fatal shooting in Orange County

Orange County deputies are searching for the person who shot and killed a man in Orange County. It happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday.  "I was in the kitchen. All I heard was, 'Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow!" explained Ida Walls.  She said the man, in his thirties, was a family friend and had been visiting her home when he was shot outside by her driveway.  "He was laying down on the ground groaning. And everybody was panicking.  I gave him my phone to call 911."

Walls said her friend walked out into the street to get into a car to talk to some people, but he was then quickly kicked out of the car and shot.  "When they took off, they went around a corner so fast they almost hit a girl there." Deputies said the victim, who is in his thirties, later died at the hospital.   As deputies look for the killer, Walls hopes they catch the person, or people, responsible. "They deserve everything they get."

Deputies haven't yet released the name of the victim. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
