Deputies say man shot girlfriend in ankle

ORANGE CITY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - An Orange City, Florida man was arrested after deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said he shot his girlfriend in the ankle during a domestic argument.
Deputies on Sunday arrested Robert Pugh, 34, after his girlfriend showed up at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City with a gunshot injury. She was shot around 11:30 a.m. after an argument at the couple’s home.
The victim said she and Pugh had been arguing all morning when she went outside and heard gunshots and was hit just above the right ankle. She said Pugh gave her a cup of water and a belt to use as a tourniquet, at her request. Then he dropped her off at the hospital.
Pugh was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
