Deputies: Lake Wales couple sent child porn through Facebook
LAKE WALES, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Polk County Sheriff's Office have arrested a couple on charges of possessing child porn.
Jesse Butler, 29, and Katie Butler, 30, were taken into custody at their Lake Wales home on Wednesday.
According to investigators, they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a video containing child pornography was uploaded and sent through Facebook Messenger by Jesse Butler to Katie Butler in December.
During a search of their home, detectives said they found over 40 images and videos depicting child porn on Katie's cellphone. The victims were boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 12-years-old.
Investigators said they also found drug paraphernalia and baggies containing meth residue during their search.
"At this time, the identities of the children in the images is unknown. Our detectives will continue their work to determine if there are any more images, and if any of the victims are local," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.
The Sheriff's Office said the couple did have access to small children but said there is no indication at this time that they were involved in the child pornography.
The couple was taken to the Polk County Jail.
