Deputies: Child died from drowning

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County deputies are investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy found unconscious in a drained pool behind a home in Pine Hills along Elderwood Court. Deputies are calling this a tragic event.

"The pool had pretty much been drained... however, from what I understand, with all the rain we've had recently, some water had accumulated in the pool and somehow the child was able to wander back into that pool area," said Jeff Williamson, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death, though investigators believe it is the result of an accidental drowning.
