Deputies arrest two men accused of stealing cigarettes, clothing

Two men face robbery and battery charges for allegedly stealing cartons of cigarettes and clothes from a Deltona Walmart.

The incident happened Sunday at a Walmart on Howland Boulevard.

According to Volusia County deputies, Norris Mincey, 29, and Anthony McFadden, 23, were seen running out of the store with bags full of merchandise.

On the way out, deputies said Mincey hit an employee in the head using the shopping bags.

Witnesses say they saw the two suspects get into a gray car before they fled.

The suspects later ran on foot, leaving behind the stolen merchandise, which included 36 cartons of cigarettes and clothing totaling nearly $2,500.

Deputies used thermal sensing on the Volusia County Sheriff's Office chopper to locate Mincey and McFadden in a wooded area near I-4 at exit 108.

Two other people were also arrested.

They were the driver of the car, who told deputies she was an Uber driver and fled because she wanted to avoid being arrested, and a front-seat passenger, who told deputies he was asleep for most of the time.
