ORLANDO, Fla. - A Daytona Beach resident a table outside her apartment was stolen and said the alleged theft was caught on surveillance video.
Nikki Sental shared that she started her morning just as she normally does, by making herself a cup of joe and heading out the door.
The backstory:
On Tuesday, she was greeted with an unpleasant surprise as her Victorian wrought iron marble table was gone.
"When I came out with my morning coffee and tried to put it down on the table to lock my door, and it wasn’t here. I could not believe it," Nikki Sental exclaimed.

The table typically sits right outside Nikki's door. She checked her ring doorbell camera to see what happened and that’s when she found video of a man and a woman delivering what appears to be food to another resident in the apartment complex Sental lives in. The pair makes the delivery and leaves the same way they came in. The man reappears and grabs the table sitting outside of Sental’s apartment door and carries it down the stairs.
Sental claims she purchased the table for $750 but is worth around a thousand.

The whole interaction has her re-thinking whether getting food delivered to your door is worth the risk to you or your neighbors.
"It really makes me feel uncomfortable because these people are coming into our building and if they have the code to our door, and they are walking around our building, and they're taking things now, I mean it's very scary," Sental said.
What you can do:
Mike Ruggiero is a retired police sergeant. Ruggiero recommends items of high value should stay inside.
"We want to make sure that we’re not leaving valuable items outside of our residences unsecured, which presents a temptation for many people," Ruggiero said.
Ruggiero notes ring cameras and other surveillance video could significantly increase your chances of catching a porch pirate.
"There is a good possibility that they at least catch the general description of the suspect, the direction of travel where they came from and potentially even caught their face on the video camera," Ruggiero shared.
What's next:
Nikki Sental has filed a police report with the Daytona Beach Police Department and says she intends to press charges when and if police identify the two people in the video.
