2 people hurt in Daytona Beach shooting, police say

An innocent bystander was grazed by a bullet after two people got into an argument nearby where one of them pulled out a gun and began shooting, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon outside a business in Daytona Beach.

What we know:

Daytona Beach police officers responded to the area of 402 Madison Avenue after 911 dispatchers received a report of a fight between 2 people. At some point, the fight turned into a shooting, police said, with at least one person shot.

Nearby officers responded to the scene and detained a man, later identified as 23-year-old Nathan Joeseph Lee. Police said Lee pulled out a gun during a fight and shot another person one time. 

A second person was struck by a bullet that hit a wall nearby, police said.

Police said both people who were shot were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Lee was arrested and booked into the Volusia County Jail.
