Daytona Beach Police amping patrols for Bike Week

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - As Bike Week rolls on, police are stepping up patrols and making their presence known - all in the name of keeping you safe.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood told Fox 35's David Williams they’ve doubled the normal number of cops on the ground and will triple the number as the week progresses.
Chief Chitwood expects a million visitors in Daytona Beach this week.
His officers are keeping a sharp eye out for pick-pocketers, burglaries and people drinking and driving.
Chitwood said so far this Bike Week, at least 12 people were arrested for things like aggravated assault and robbery.
Bottom line, Chief Chitwood said, "If you commit a crime, you will get caught."
Bike Week goes through March 13.
