Confrontation over household expenses ends in gunshot wound
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said that they charged 29-year-old Dennis Mijaries Diaz of Altamonte Springs with attempted first degree pre-mediated murder.
The sheriff's office said that on February 9th, deputies responded to a residence located on Alder Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Deputies said that there was a confrontation between Diaz and 32-year-old Isiah Dennis. Both subjects lived at the residence but neither wanted to prosecute and the situation was resolved.
However, deputies continued and said that on the morning of February 10th, they had to return to the residence following a report of a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, they discovered Dennis with a non-life threatening wound on his shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Investigators said that Diaz and Dennis were involved in an ongoing dispute over household expenses. The two were arguing when Diaz pulled the trigger on the shotgun he was holding. Several of the pellets from the shotgun shell struck Dennis in the shoulder.
Diaz was taken into custody without incident. He was reportedly arrested for attempted first degree pre-mediated homicide and booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
