Colonial Dr closures announced for bridge work

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - West Colonial Drive will be closed, between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue, to accommodate concrete pours for a new pedestrian bridge. 

During the closures, concrete trucks will be present on-site as crews pour and spread the concrete across the deck’s base.  Message boards will go up in advance to notify regular travelers of the upcoming closure. Detour signs will be clearly posted before and along detour routes. 

Once the entire project is complete in early 2019, this new quarter-mile bridge will help provide a safe connection from the Downtown core to the north, providing critical links between the Orlando Urban Trail and Gertrude’s Walk, SunRail and LYNX Central Station. 

Closures will occur on the following days and times:

Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 until 6 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 until 6 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 until 6 a.m.
