Child pulled from car as tree falls on vehicles
APOPKA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A child was pulled from a car just as a large tree toppled onto several vehicles in Apopka on Sunday afternoon.
"All of the sudden, sounded like fireworks were going off and then, all of the sudden, a tree fell," said witness Jason Vines. "His mom pulled him out of the car at the last minute, before the tree fell."
Part of the Wekiva Riverwalk parking lot was blocked off to traffic as emergency crews responded. Apopka police officers said the toddler was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children with a minor laceration.
Three vehicles were damaged in the incident.
