Child hit by car in Cape Canaveral

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Brevard County Fire Rescue officials say a child was hit by a car in Cape Canaveral Sunday night.

It happened at the intersection of Astronaut Boulevard and West Central Boulevard.

Fire rescue officials say the child was walking down A1A with family when he or she ran out into traffic and was hit by a car.

Officials say the car stopped immediately.

A helicopter airlifted the child to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

It's unclear what condition the child is in.
