Candidates join patients in call for a state-run bank to handle medical marijuana funds

On Tuesday, candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried, candidate for Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Ring, and Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith will join medical marijuana patients to call for a state-run bank to handle medical marijuana company's funds.

They say that a state-run bank would allow the medical marijuana industry to grow and open the market, creating stability and competition while expanding access to medicine and and helping suffering Floridians.

The proposal reportedly comes following Nikki Fried's campaign account being closed by Wells Fargo and BB&T over her advocacy to expand patient access to media marijuana in Florida.
