Brevard County nurse accused of touching patient inappropriately during exam

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A Brevard County nurse has been arrested after being accused of sexual battery on a patient. 

Jose Juan Cruz, 37, is set to go before a judge on Tuesday. 

Melbourne police arrested Cruz on Monday. Last week, according to investigators, Cruz allegedly touched a female patient inappropriately during a skin assessment medical exam at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

The female victim told officers that Cruz fondled her when a female nurse left the room during the exam.

Detectives questioned Cruz the following day, saying he confirmed significant parts of the victim's story, but they didn't arrest him until 3 days later.

Cruz is facing a felony sexual battery charge.
