Body found in Banana River identified as West Melbourne man

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose body was discovered in the Banana River near the Pineda Causeway on Wednesday. 

Sheriff’s Office Dive Team recovered the body of 23-year-old, John Romer of West Melbourne, just after 9 a.m.   The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office, and now there is an ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the Romer's death. Results of the autopsy performed by the Brevard County Medical Examiner are pending at this time.
