Ben Carson is cool to idea of Tubman on $20 bill

WASHINGTON (AP) - Abolitionist Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill? Not so fast, says former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson.

The Treasury Department announced Wednesday that Tubman will be featured on a redesign of the $20 bill that moves President Andrew Jackson to the back of the bill. Tubman would be the first African-American on U.S. paper money.

Jackson's demotion didn't sit well with Carson. He told Fox Business Network that he "loves" Tubman and what she did but that Jackson was "a tremendous president" and the last one who balanced the federal budget. Carson asked, "In honor of that we kick him off the money?"

Carson suggested honoring Tubman by placing her on the $2 bill. He didn't mention it, but doing that could unseat another president, Thomas Jefferson.
