Battle brewing over funding for local kids
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A battle is brewing over funding for local kids.
Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs is proposing a $20-million budget increase for children's programs. But, the move would put the vote for a children's trust on hold. The trust comes with a $58 million property tax hike.
Mayor Teresa Jacobs says that she wants to identify the exact needs and then decide where the money is best spent.
Advocates of the children's trust are vowing to try and get the issue on the ballot in 2020.
