Accused killer of Sumter County teen arrested
SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - After two months on the run, deputies arrested Larry Peavy on Friday, to face charges in the murder of 16-year-old Aleaya Jackson.
Sumter County deputies said Peavy was hiding in South Florida and they got word that he was returning to the area. They eventually tracked him to Leesburg where they followed a woman he was with to Walmart and found Peavy hiding in her car.
They arrested him without incident and he was booked into the Lake County Jail late Friday night.
According to deputies, the outstanding warrants Peavy was arrested on include kidnapping, false imprisonment, sex assault with a weapon or force, kidnapping felony, and first-degree homicide-murder.
The charges stem back from an incident in early November, which resulted in Jackson's death. Detectives said Peavy invited Jackson and another teenager to a party in Bushnell, where they said he raped both of the girls and tied up Aleaya.
Detectives said the other girl was able to escape and alert deputies who found Aleaya dead and Peavy gone.
