ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County sheriff's deputies are investigating after a man was killed in a home invasion on Monday in Orlando.
Investigators say that it was just before 5 p.m. when someone with a gun stormed into a home near University Boulevard and Port Simbor Avenue. Several people were inside the home when deputies say the gunman shot and killed a 20-year-old man. He was rushed the hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries there.
"We have one victim that suffered a gunshot wound. That victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later," said Lt. Kenneth Parker with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The circumstances around the shooting are still unclear. Officials said the shooting does not appear random, and they are developing suspects in the case.
