Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office roped the Caribbean Market off with yellow tape. Access to the Cash America Pawn Shop behind the market is also closed off.

According to deputies, they received a call about shots fired just after midnight. They say when they arrived, they found a dead body at the scene.

Deputies say a witness told them that he drove the victim to meet someone at McDonald's. That's when several shots were fired. The victim was transported to ORMC and pronounced deceased.

Just minutes later, deputies were called to another shooting on Ferndell Road. The victim, a 52-year-old woman, was at a house party when the victim displayed a firearm.

"The firearm exchanged hands and a round went off, resulting in the victim being shot. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition," according to a press release.

Police say the two shootings are not connected.
