Pete Hegseth speaks on U.S. strikes against Iran
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke at an on-camera press briefing on Thursday morning at the Pentagon. At the event, Hegseth shared that the United States' strikes against Iran were "historically successful," saying the American forces caused "enormous damage." On June 22, the U.S. targeted three Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. President Donald Trump said the goal was to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities and prevent it from acquiring a nuclear weapon. Officials claimed the sites sustained "extremely severe damage and destruction," setting back Iran's nuclear program. However, Iran claimed the sites sustained "quite superficial" damage.
