Man on scooter dies after being shot, police say

A man has died after he was apparently shot in Melbourne, police say. Police said it appeared the man crashed his scooter around 12:30 a.m. It was later determined that he had been shot. He died at the scene. Police said around the same time the man was found, 911 calls reported shots fired in the area.
