Man charged, accused of shooting, injuring cat

Bullet fragments were found in a cat's leg, later forcing the cat's leg to be amputated, after a man shot at the cat when it was near his car, the Brevard County Sheriff says. The man's said the cat was damaging his car. The man was charged with animal cruelty, with a bond set at $6,000.

Great Dane Keira's got her sight returned and is now walking after firefighters pulled her from a burning Palm Coast home. Now, Keira is energetic and running around by her family's side.

Woman faces non-refundable venue deposit after fiancé dies

After a woman's fiancé died, their wedding venue chose to honor it's contract over a refund. The woman, who is also in the wedding industry as a makeup artist, said she understands running a business, but other companies have issued her refunds after her fiancé's death. The company said the $7,500 deposit went toward date reservation and staffing allocation. 

Orlando's Tanqueray's Bar and Grille closing on New Years Eve

After 37 years, the Tanqueray's Bar and Grille in Orlando is closing it's doors. It's last night is Jan. 31, New Year's Eve. Some say the city's strict safety policies downtown, such as needing a paid permit to serve alcohol after midnight, are to blame for the closure of several Orlando entertainment spots. 

Police apologize after 'invalid' license plate arrest

A South Florida man was arrested for what police believed to be an obscured license plate under a new Florida law. The man was later released from jail, with the Davie Police Department saying the arrest was invalid. The driver's attorneys said the experience was traumatizing for him.

Migrating Gannets stuck on Space Coast, locals help

Gannets from Newfoundland are migrating to Florida's coast, but are getting stuck. While resting in the sand from their flight, they get caught up in the waves and get stranded, an expert says, telling beachgoers to leave the birds alone so they can get the rest they need before continuing on with their trip. 

New paint job coming to WDW's Cinderella Castle

After receiving a blue and rose gold color scheme for Magic Kingdom's 50th anniversary, Cinderella Castle, which sits at the park's center, is about to get repainted starting in January. Not to fret, visitors can still snap their iconic castle and fireworks pictures in the evenings.

Florida lawmakers discussed making vehicle registration easier by suggesting alternate method to registration stickers. This discussion came after lawmakers said the stickers were outdated, costly and often stolen. 

Dozens of vases stolen before Christmas from Kissimmee cemetery

A resident who visits her father's gravesite around the holidays, noticed a vase containing flowers near his grave was stolen. Now, the sheriff's office  believes this may be part of a bigger problem, they say, reporting over 50 reports of the same issues. 

Artifacts Removed from Pulse Nightclub Site

The City of Orlando said it has plans to remove a number of items from inside the Pulse Nightclub memorial site. Those items will be stored in a facility for potential use in the permanent memorial, including two chandeliers, posters, a framed mirror, a bar top and others.
