Orange County health officials investigate Legionnaires’ cases

State and local health officials are investigating an uptick in Legionnaires’ disease cases in Orange County, but have not identified the source of the outbreak. Health officials say the bacterial infection is a severe form of pneumonia spread through tiny water droplets, often from air-conditioning systems, plumbing or other mist-producing equipment. It is not transmitted from person to person.

Former Flagler County paramedic faces trial on sex crime charges

A former paramedic is set to stand trial this week on sex crime charges stemming from an alleged assault of a patient during an ambulance transport. Jury selection began Monday for 38-year-old James Melady, who was arrested last year after a woman reported he sexually assaulted her while she was being transported in October 2021.

St. Cloud Police looking for suspects in hit-and-run

A man on a scooter was hit by multiple vehicles on Saturday morning on Old Canoe Creek Road, according to the St. Cloud Police Department. None of the people who hit him stopped, authorities said. Family: Woman hurt in Eustis explosion, fire has died

The family of a woman who was critically hurt following the explosion of a Eustis business on December 4 announced Sunday that she had died. The woman's daughter posted about it on Facebook. FOX 35 has reached out to officials to confirm the woman's name and identity.
