When/how did you know that you wanted to be a journalist?

I knew I wanted to be a journalist ever since I watched the Kit Kittredge American Girl doll movie when I was eight. She was determined, passionate, and did anything she could to get every last detail of a story – and I wanted to be just like her.

What do you love about journalism?

I love the way in which we keep our community informed about what is going on in the world around them. I’ve long since been drawn to local stories, as they are more personal to our audience, and getting to highlight the amazing and hardworking people and groups that make Central Florida feel like home is always a privilege.

In her free time, Hayden loves to read, write fiction, crochet, and spend time with friends and family. She is a big Disney and Taylor Swift fan
