KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A woman visiting her daughter in Kissimmee is warning residents to beware of a dangerous dog, after she says she was attacked.
It was a dog attack that left scratches on Linda Cooper's face.
She says she was walking her puppy, Jesse, when out of nowhere a dog came flying at her. She says it was a pit bull.
Cooper says she isn't sure where the dog came from, but says it had a collar on as it roamed the Doral Point subdivision in Kissimmee.
"I pulled back, like this, and I started screaming, 'Help me!,' and ran to my daughter's door."
She believes the pit bull was after her precious puppy.
"That dog was going for her," she said. "I was afraid it was going to kill her. It was pretty traumatizing. She was screaming, and once we got into the house and got settled, she was like, and then she just curled up by us. It was scary; it really was."
Cooper says her son-in-law kneed the dog to keep it from going inside.
She wants to make sure no one else is attacked.
That's why she says she filed a report with law enforcement, as well as animal services.
"I kept thinking there's so many children in this neighborhood," she said. "There's so many people that walk their dogs and I just don't want anybody hurt."
She has some advice to all residents.
"Keep it on a leash, especially in a neighborhood where there's so many children."
