Woman fighting breast cancer pleads for driver who hit her father to come forward

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A woman who just had a double mastectomy now says her father is the one who needs help.

Marissa Branisavljevic just had surgery less than a week ago.

Her parents drove up from Boca Raton to help take care of her.

But during a morning bike road, Polk County deputies say the woman's father was hit on Ernie Caldwell Boulevard, near 17/92.

Deputies say the driver took off.

Now, Branisavljevic says her father has a fractured skull, five broken ribs, a broken shoulder and a spine injury.

Deputies say, so far, they don't have any witnesses.

Investigators are now searching for any cameras that might have captured the hit-and-run.
