Westbound lanes of I-4 closed for hours due to depression
The westbound lanes of Interstate 4 were shut down for several hours due to a depression in the roadway, transportation officials said.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Westbound lanes of Interstate 4 were shut down for several hours Thursday evening and early Friday morning because of a depression in the roadway, transportation officials said.
Drivers traveling westbound were being directed to exit at Exit 58 and detour around the closure until all lanes were reopened around 11 p.m.
What we know:
The depression was reported between Exit 55 in Haines City and Exit 58.
Some traffic was briefly permitted to pass in the inside lane and shoulder to alleviate the backups. Traffic was reportedly backed up for over seven miles.

Construction crews assessed the damage and were making the necessary repairs.
