Volusia woman gave fake name and attempted to run during traffic stop
A Volusia County woman on felony probation gave fake name and attempted to run during traffic stop, according to the Port Orange Police Department.
ORLANDO, Fla. - A Volusia County woman who was out on felony probation gave officers a fake name and proceeded to run during an early morning traffic stop, according to the Port Orange Police Department.
Alicia Dvorak of Daytona Beach, who initially tried to go by "Katie", was contacted by officers in the back of an Uber ride.
When officers went back to try and confirm her identity, Alicia exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Deputies quickly caught up to Dvorak and took her into custody without further incident. She was wanted on active arrest warrants.
After her arrest, Dvorak reportedly told officers, "I had to try."
Authorities said Dvorak was also found in possession of cocaine and prescription medication without a valid prescription.
She was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where she faces additional charges related to drug possession and providing false information to law enforcement.
