Two stabbed, two arrested after fight breaks out
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says that two men in their 20s were stabbed on Saturday night in a confrontation that spilled over from an attempted drug-related robbery the day before. One of the two men was critically injured.
Deputies say that 23-year-old Michael Parker and 22-year-old Kyle Wagner went to an Ormond BEach residence to confront 19-year-old Adam Vignati in a pre-arranged meeting over the Friday robbery attempt.
When Parker and Wagner arrived, they were said to have been attacked by Vignati, Zyreavion Martin, and two juveniles. Wagner attempted to intervene and help Parker, but Vignati and Martin grabbed two large kitchen knives from inside the residence and stabbed both of them. The fight eventually broke up and the victims left the scene.
Deputies say they discovered Park and Wagner stabbed at the intersection of Derbyshire and Alcazar Street in Daytona Beach. They were transported by EVAC to Halifax Medical Center.
Parker reportedly suffered lacerations to his left arm and lower back and was treated and released. Wagner suffered more serious injuries, including a collapsed lung and a punctured liver and kidney. He was admitted to ICU due to his injuries.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says the four suspects admitted to participating in the altercation. Vignati and Martin were arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The juveniles were released to their parents.
