Titusville fire units rescue baby sand hill crane
TITUSVILLE, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Titusville Fire Rescue came to the help of a baby sandhill crane with a broken leg.
The Titusville Fire and Emergency Services reported via Facebook that at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, units responded to a report of a vehicle accident. While on the way, it was also reported that a large bird was involved.
On arrival, they say that two vehicles were involved and a small sandhill crane was found with a bystander who had it wrapped in a towel. The responding units took over and stayed with the bird, ultimately transporting it back to the station to await a representative from Wild Florida Rescue. It appears the bird was taken with what appeared to be a broken leg.
