Thieves steal 2 firearms from sheriff deputy's crusier

Authorities say thieves took a 12-guage shotgun and an M-16 rifle after breaking the window of a sheriff deputy's cruiser parked in a Florida subdivision.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports four cars in the South Daytona neighborhood early Sunday morning. The car belongs to a sergeant with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

According to a report, the rifle has the number 89 engraved at the bottom of the stock and a sidesaddle that holds ammunition. The rifle has a sling and an LED light attached.

Thieves made off with a four-day Disney World pass from another vehicle in the neighborhood.

An investigation continues.
