These Bike Upgrades Could Save Your Life! Or Save You From Muscle Cramps

Are you a night rider? Want to upgrade your existing bike to e-bike status? Juan Carlos Bagnell shows us some great tech whether you're a casual rider, or a road warrior.

First up are the Zackees Turn Signal Gloves 2.0. I don't think it's an understatement to say that these gloves (or the helmet we demo'd) could be lifesavers. They feature 54 lumen LED panels which were bright enough to be fully visible, and impactful, under our bright studio lights. Here are the rest of the details:

RECHARGEABLE COIN CELL BATTERY
LEATHER REINFORCED PALMS
6 HOURS OF MODERATE USE
$55 http://www.zackees.com

Next, Juan showed us the Lumos Helmet. Again, lifesaver. This helmet was just recently updated to work with the Lumos app and the Apple Watch. It comes with a remote so that you can activate the turn signals but Apple Watch integration means that functionality is now gesture based. The rest of the details on the Lumos Helmet:

BATTERY LASTS 6 HOURS ON FLASHING MODE AND 3 HOURS ON SOLID MODE
REMOTE LASTS FOR A WEEK PER CHARGE
$179.95 https://lumoshelmet.co/collections/all

And now, from saving your life to saving you some post-workout soreness. The Geo Wheel is an electric upgrade for any bike you already own, which turns your standard bike into an e-bike in as little as 60 seconds. And, while many e-bikes are well over $1000, you can pick this up for about $1000. Best of all, when you use it and get to your destination, you can just unlock the wheel from your bike and take it with you so you don't have to worry about your bike being stolen. More information on the Geo Wheel:

INSTALLS IN AS LITTLE AS 60 SECONDS
RECHARGE TIME UP TO 4 HOURS
RANGE WITHOUT PEDALING, UP TO 20 MILES
2 WHEEL OPTIONS: 26 INCHES AND 700C

Last, but definitely not least, Elex took a ride on the electric side with the Sondors Fold. This is an e-bike company that was started by a guy who just wanted to buy an e-bike and was taken aback by how much they cost. So, he decided he'd make his own brand and at a price people could actually afford, thus Storm Sondors birthed the Sondors Storm. It was originally sold on Kickstarter for $500 without shipping. Today, it's still under $1000 but the price now includes shipping and some extras. If you're local and want to try out the bikes they brought today, Sondors is having a test drive event, this Saturday in Hermosa Beach. You can read about that on their Facebook page below.

*With both e-bikes it should be noted that range depends on terrian, weight of the rider and other conditions.
