Teen pistol-whipped in the head during armed home invasion

A teen was pistol-whipped in the head during an armed home invasion on Tuesday.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that at approximately 5:12 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Sugarbush Drive in reference to an armed home invasion. 

They say that a 17-year-old victim was confronted by an unknown suspect inside of the house. The suspect, who is said to be a black male in his late teens, demanded money. He went on to pistol-whip the victim, which resulted in an injury to his head.

Orange County Fire Rescue transported the victim to Dr. Philips Hospital with a non-life threatening injury. 

Deputies say that they have not yet located the suspect. They believe he escaped in a vehicle.
