SpaceX launches SES O3b mPOWER communications satellite from Florida
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - SpaceX launched the SES O3b mPOWER mission on a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday.
The O3b mPOWER satellites are upgraded second-generation satellites for SES's O3b Networks which is designed to bring connectivity to millions in remote regions of the world.
This mission marked the inaugural flight for the first-stage booster used. After stage separation, the booster successfully attempted to land on the droneship "Just Read the Instructions," positioned in the Atlantic Ocean.
