HIALEAH, Fla. (FOX 13) - A man in south Florida has been charged with animal cruelty after disturbing video appeared to show him abusing his neighbor's dog while on a walk.
Hialeah police said Victor Suero was doing obedience training on Feb. 15 with his Siberian Husky named Han and his neighbor's dog, a 1-year-old Husky named Winter.
At some point, officers said Suero became upset with Winter during the training session. Cellphone video showed him apparently choking the dog, grabbing her by the collar and swinging her in the air in a circular motion.
Investigators said he then choked Winter again and violently slammed her to the ground, "leaving her motionless and whining in pain."
Police located Suero on March 7 and charged him with two counts of Animal Cruelty with the Intent to Injure or Kill.
Winter is thankfully in good health and has been reunited with her owner, detectives said. Suero's dog Han, meanwhile, is now in the care of Miami-Dade Animal Services and is also in good health, according to police.
