BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred near the intersection of Curtis Boulevard and Carlowe Avenue in Port St. John on Sunday.
According to officials, deputies quickly located 23-year-old Tyjah Bellinger in connection to the shooting death of his 28-year-old girlfriend, Lendzi Lakeman.
Deputies initially responded out to the area around 12:15 p.m. on a shots fired call when they located Lakeman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to officials.
Officials say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Bellinger faces charges of first degree premeditated murder and is being held on no bond at the Brevard County Jail.
Despite the arrest, residents can expect a significant law enforcement presence in the area as investigators continue processing the scene.
