Search for hit-and-run driver who crashed into deputy's patrol car

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is searching for a driver who slammed into a deputy's car.

It happened early Friday morning near the corner of Colonial Drive and Alafaya Trail.

State troopers say it happened when another driver flagged down the deputy to report an accident.

Officials say the deputy's car was stopped when a second car crashed into the deputy's cruiser and drove off.

The deputy was not injured, but the cruiser suffered minor damage.

Troopers say the suspect's car stopped at a nearby parking lot.

They say the driver got out and ran away, abandoning the car.
