Push to bring Space Command to Florida

Space Florida says the country is in need of a new space force, so that the nation is unified in protecting our assets in space.

The Pentagon will be looking for new locations to house a Space Command, so experts from all over the state are held a summit to talk about the skills they offer and how Florida can get an edge over other states competing for the force.

"Creating a new culture for a new service and training war fighters to fight in a new domain, this is something Florida is good at," said Dale Ketcham, Space Florida's Vice President Government & External Relations.

Gov. Ron DeSantis assigned Space Florida to bring resources together in Sunshine State to show that we have a great place for space command, when the Pentagon is ready for bids.
