The Powerball jackpot has spiked to a staggering $1.3 billion after no winning ticket was sold in Monday night’s drawing.

This new jackpot prize is the fifth largest in the game’s history if no one wins Wednesday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers for Monday night’s 1.1 billion drawing were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 with Powerball 5. No one has matched all six Powerball numbers since May 31.

Although there was no Powerball jackpot winner, two ticket holders in Montana and North Carolina each won $2 million, the Associated Press reported. 

Powerball cash prize estimated at almost $ 600 million

According to the Associated Press, payments for a jackpot would be spread over 30 years. And a winner can choose an immediate lump sum in cash before taxes, which is now $589 million. The odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 292.2 million with the chances of being struck by lightning are far greater.

Powerball tickets are $2 per game. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
