Police: Female inmate hangs herself in Lake County jail
Lake County, Fla (WOFL-FOX) - The Lake County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after a female inmate at the Lake County Jail committed suicide.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to officials, a detention deputy was notified by another inmate that someone hung themselves in their cell.
We're told authorities tried to performed CPR and utilized an automated eternal defibrillator in an attempt to resuscitate the inmate. However, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after.
As of right now, her identity has not been released.
