Passengers affected by Norovirus outbreak on Royal Caribbean cruise arrive at port

Hundreds of passenger on a Royal Caribbean cruise who are sick with a gastrointestinal illness arrived at Port Canaveral Saturday morning.

Royal Caribbean on Friday reported 475 people aboard the Oasis of the Seas were ill. Initially on Thursday, the company reported 277 people, including passengers and crew members contracted norovirus.

Passengers aboard the cruise reported constant cleaning and an intensive sanitary sweep of the 1,187-foot long vessel as they traveled back to the Space Coast. Nearly 100 people are confined to their rooms, according to the ship’s captain.

Royal Caribbean is offering passengers full refunds for the trip.
