An Osceola County deputy shot a man overnight after responding to a 911 call near Kissimmee. That man has been taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Family called 911 about a family member experiencing a mental health crisis. Deputies said the man got into a physical fight with the deputy, and was then shot.

An Osceola County deputy shot a man early Wednesday morning at a home in Kissimmee after responding to an emergency mental health call, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

The man, 51, was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. The deputy is OK and was not seriously hurt, the sheriff's office said.

What we know:

Deputies were called to a home on Marcos Circle around 2 a.m. regarding a man experiencing a mental health episode, the sheriff's office said. Shortly after arriving on scene, the sheriff's office said there was a physical fight between the man and the deputy. 

That man was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, the sheriff's office said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the deputy-involved shooting, which is standard protocol.
