Downtown to reopen streets to vehicular traffic

Orange avenue in downtown Orlando will now open the streets to vehicular traffic on the weekends. FOX 35's Stephanie Buffamonte has the latest.

The City of Orlando will reopen Orange Avenue for traffic on weekends, according to a news release from the city.

The change officially will take place on February 8 as part of an ongoing effort to create a safer downtown experience.

Orange Ave as well as Central Boulevard and Pine Street will remain open at night to safely accommodate traffic.

The city said it is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors as it aims to continue to grow the downtown area.
