Officer loses control of cruiser, hits 2 trucks

PORT ORANGE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Port Orange police officer was driving north on US 1,  headed to a burglary call in the area Saturday afternoon. 

He turned onto Niver, lost control and smashed in two trucks in the parking lot of Boat Bar.

Shelly Mosley says it was the scariest shift she's ever worked. 

She said, "I was bartending like normal. We had a few people in. Out of nowhere here comes a screech and a bang and I just said this is not good!. If they hadn't have been parked there, they would have come through the building and that would've been awful."

There were about 15 people in the bar at the time. No one was hurt.

Mosely is now worried about her prized possession, her purple tinted truck she's had since 1993.

She said, "I'm like oh my God it's got a custom paint job on it, how am I gonna fix this? They're never gonna match the color it's heartbreaking."

Florida Higway Patrol is investigating.
